SHCC began in 1991 when a group of parents from the Summer Hill Public School Parents and Citizens Association decided to form a cricket team to enable their children to play a summer team sport. From the beginning these parents sought to promote a sense of community and emphasized the philosophy of participation.
SHCC has been the largest junior cricket club playing in the Canterbury and Western Suburbs Cricket Association’s junior competition for some years. In 2008-09, SHCC fielded a record 18 junior and 5 senior teams. In 2009-10 the club will enter its 18th season and importantly will have its first girls’ team.
