It’s March, Finals are here and the stakes are high – we are playing for Premierships and also for SHCC’s Glenn Holdstock Player of the Finals trophy. Glenn is one of our Club Founders, and played in our inaugural Senior Premiership back in 1996/97. Each year the Award is decided by Glenn, and awarded for an outstanding Performance in any match during the Finals Series. If you were following last week, Div 6 had a chance to be Minor Premiers if they won – read on to

SHCC Scoop - Finals are here, Presentation Night May 1st
March can only mean one thing – it’s Cricket Finals time! Congratulations to our 4 teams who have qualified for Finals this year – Well done to Division 2, 4, 6 and 7 – and especially Division 4 who finished Minor Premiers. Division 6 still have 1 regular season match to go, and should they win, will also finish Minor Premiers. Sadly, 1 st and our 4 th Morning teams have not qualified, and 5 th Division will also miss out, even with 1 round to play. We wish each of

SHCC Scoop - Finals around the Corner, Presentation Night May 1st
It’s been a slow start to cricket in 2026, with just 1 days play in January with matches cancelled due to heat or rain. The good news is that we’ve had some cricket in February, and some intra club games on the long weekend too. Div 1, Div 2, 4 and 7 have a single one day match to go before finals start, with Div 5 and 6 a 2 day match to complete, then a 1 dayer before Finals start, and our Div 4 Morning team complete a 1 day match this Saturday to finish their season. SHCC Scoop - Maiden Ton and 5 for, Test Match Round
It’s always great to see our players tick off personal milestones during the season, and for batters and bowlers, their first Century and 5 fors are special. Congratulations to James Hoy and Hamza Malik on achieving their first last round. Well done boys, and we look forward to celebrating with you at our End of Season Presentation Night. In honour of the First Ashes Test lasting just 2 days, I’d like to refer to our Final Round before Christmas as “Test Match Round” as

SHCC Scoop - Thunderbolts & Lightning, Claire Polosak & Umpiring…
You know summer is not far away when ominous clouds in the distance get even darker and the lightning starts cracking! All of our teams with 2 day matches were fortunate to finish their matches – some results positive, some negative. Sadly, our Div 5 and Div 6 teams who had 1 day matches were not so lucky, with Div 5 on their way to a win against an undermanned Newtown, and Div 6 evenly poised against Summer Hill Seniors. Both matches ended in a draw. Read on for more deta

SHCC Scoop - A Cracking Finish, Close Losses and an Almost Outright
Our first round of all teams playing 2 day matches concurrently delivered some wonderful cricket, with all teams competitive across both days. Div 1 led the way with an almost outright victory, and Div 5 recorded a dramatic last ball victory – read on for full details of Div 5’s last gasp win. There is plenty going on at the club at the moment, with our AGM held 2 weeks ago. Thanks to the Senior players who attended to help us get to the required number of people for o

SHCC Scoop - HatTrick, Tons and Smashed Stumps - we've got it all!
Cricket season is well underway, with Thursday Training in full swing, Morning Cricket back – and most of our afternoon teams starting a stretch of 2 day matches – it’s great to be playing cricket. We’ve had some great individual performances over the last month, with a few tons, including Arslan Ameen scoring his off the last ball of the game to win the match – what could be more exciting – other than a Hattrick – well done to Amanjot Gill in Div 6, with a Hattrick last ro
